Poriae is a fungus in the family Polyporaceae. The mycelium is white villi, white when young and light brown when old. The aerial hyphae are short and erect, more crisscrossed, densely running through the matrix, and the sclerotia is composed of the outer epithelium, the endothelial membrane, the polysaccharide granule formation layer and the polysaccharide grain accumulation layer. The sclerotia is the dormant organ of Poria, but also a storage organ, the sclerotia develops to a certain stage, expands upwards and grows, exposes the soil surface, the hyphae grow and expand on the surface of the sclerotia, and the top hyphae continue to grow outward and develop into fruiting bodies. The fruiting body varies in size, lying flat on the surface of the sclerotia or mycelium, white at first, light brown later, the spores are transparent without inclusions, and the surface is smooth, mainly distributed in China, the Americas, Oceania, Japan and some countries in Southeast Asia. The areas with large output of Chinese cultivation include Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Fujian, Anhui and other provinces and regions. It grows mostly on the roots of pine plants and is suitable for medium altitude, cool, dry, sandy soils, and slopes of 10-35°.
